On 3 April 2025, we hosted a special edition of REBarCamp – the Leaders’ Long Table Lunch – at Kailis Brothers in Leederville. Unlike our usual unconference format where the agenda gets made on the fly, this was an intentional experiment: one guest speaker, one bold vision, and one long table of opinionated legends from across the WA property industry.
Our guest? REIWA President Suzanne Brown.
Our topic? The future of real estate in WA over the next five years.
Suzanne kicked things off with a short but sharp presentation sharing her take on what’s coming – think AI, compliance, the evolution of agency teams, sustainability, and how buyers and sellers will experience property differently in the years ahead. Then we opened the floor and let the conversation run.
What followed was smart, respectful debate (with a side of oysters) as agents, techies, conveyancers, and property managers riffed on everything from AML legislation and client expectations to the death of the solo agent model.
We captured the big themes, the sharpest insights, and the best one-liners in a white paper. It’s not a transcript – it’s a forward-looking field guide for anyone serious about shaping (not just surviving) the future of our industry.
