REBarCamp is not your usual conference…
In fact REBarCamp isn’t a conference at all. It’s an un-conference just for real estate agents. And it’s held in a bar. Well, in this case, a bowling club with a bar.
As a participant, you get to choose the topics. You get to select which sessions to attend. Or not attend. The day is yours!
REBarCamp sessions are group sessions, where learning comes from a series of open conversations in which everyone has the opportunity ask questions and have their say.
There may be ‘speakers’ but equally there are a bunch of group discussions that cover topics that attendees decide at the start of the day.
And, in case your thinking “this sounds like a networking event”, it’s not. If you want to network, go right ahead. But the real purpose of the day is for attendees to learn and share in a casual, supportive, non-judgemental environment.
So, when’s it on? I hear you ask.
When: Wed. 20 November 2019, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Where: Mount Lawley Bowling Club, crnr Storthes & Rookwood Streets, Mount Lawley
Who: Agents, sales representatives, and property managers
How much: $35
If you’re keen to experience an day of learning and development with a serious twist then head to the link below.
The first REBarCamp to be held in Australia was 2011 in Sydney. Since then we’ve held them in Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Perth. Melbourne agents have yet to show themselves to be trendy enough to run an REBC.
The aim of every REBC is to spread knowledge, learning, and a spirit of conviviality among real estate professionals. That means getting active and taking responsibility for ourselves and our industry.
So what is RE BarCamp?
RE = Real Estate (specifically industry professionals)
BarCamp = An international network of user-generated unconferences.
And usually they are not held in a bar – except, well, being in Australia this one is..
- It’s casual
- It’s organised by volunteers within the industry
- It’s about the free exchange of information and learning.
- It’s an open, participatory event in which ALL comers are encouraged to contribute, to share, and to have a good time doing it.
- It’s a bit chaotic for first timers. But don’t worry, you’ll pick it up pretty quickly.
Come along, share your ideas and have a drink with us – tickets are $35 for the whole day – including lunch.
Registration from 8.30am with the first session kicking off at 9-ish.
