REBarCamp Perth is locked in for October 19. This time the venue is the Balmoral Hotel in East Victoria Park. Although it doesn’t have the flash, upmarket feel of last year’s venue it has a relaxed vibe. There are three breakout rooms, a large entry foyer (see the main photo above), plenty of balcony space for informal meetings, and most importantly, a bar for post-BarCamp drinks.
At the moment we’re busy promoting the event. Registrations can be made on our Eventbrite page. If you haven’t already done so head over and register now.
Last year we had nearly 130 registrations but only 75 attendees, and that makes catering, sponsoring, and logistics difficult. To reduce the no-show rate we’ve decided on a small cover charge of $20. We’re hoping this small investment will give people a reason to turn up. If nothing else it will help defray costs.
This year we’re *hoping* to provide all attendees with:
- a day of intense learning and networking,
- all day tea and coffee,
- post-BarCamp drinks, and
- a tote bag with assorted swag supplied by our sponsors,
We think it’s
pretty good great value. Just how much is provided (lunch, drinks) will be contingent on the amount of sponsorship we get.
So what can you expect on the day? I won’t go into too much detail here, but you can read about how an REBarCamp works here. Suffice it to say, REBarCamp involves your participation. This is a day we’re learning happens by doing and that means opening your mouth and sharing your experiences, techniques, and secret sauce.
We’re also looking for sponsors. At this stage REIWA, Real Estate Tribe, Residential Settlements, and Crib Creative are on board. We’ve had expressions of interest (sounds like I’m a real estate agent doesn’t it?) from a few others but we need more to make sure
our costs are covered we can provide lunch and drinks. If you know someone that’s keen get them to check out what they’ll get as an REBarCamp sponsor.
